From the campsite of Le Parc de la Grève you can reach the most beautiful beaches of Vendée.
At Campsite Le Parc de la Grève, we know that life is too hard .. Choosing the beach rather than the pool?... Ok, but which one?
Let's describe the coast first.
The Vendée is bordered by beautiful beaches of fine sand partly interrupted by rocky coasts, called the Corniche Vendéenne. This coast is called the coast of light (la côte de lumière). Vendée coast is the sunniest coast of the French Atlantic coast!
Beaches varied in size, bordering a calm sea or agitated according to the places ...
From the campsite of the Parc de la Grève, we recommend :
Beaches accessible by bicycle:
Yes, it is possible and even recommended. The path is signposted from the campsite ...
The Grande Plage of Saint Gilles Croix de Vie, about 5 km long, extended by the beach of Jaunay. This beach has a embankment, with entertainment and restaurants. The sea is quite calm. Ideal with young children.
The beach of Petit Pont, in the extension of the beach of Jaunay. This beach is more wild and mixed ("textiles" and naked). Bathing is not recommended because it can be dangerous.
The coves of the Sauzaie. Small creeks dug into the rocks form small beautiful beaches, accessible at low tide.
The beach of the Sauzaie borders a more wavy sea. It is a well known from the surfers..
Accessible beaches by car:
By bike too if cycling more than 10 kms to go there is not a problem ...
The beach of Demoiselles, bordering Saint Jean de Monts, recognized as one of the most beautiful beaches in France. Long, wide, calm sea (but not the beach ..) and many animations.
The beach of Normandelière in Brétignolles sur Mer. Very beautiful beach, ideal with family
The beach of Sauveterre, in Olonne sur Mer. Superb beach, ideal for swimming in rolls or surfing. The long access road of nearly 2 kms is very busy at peak times. Again, biking is a good idea, but also feasible to walk away by leaving the car at the relay car park, or by taking the shuttle bus.
These are the beaches we prefer in the area, but many others exist between or around them. It's up to you to choose now ... Or else, a sun bath by the pool, or a small cocktail on the terrace ...
